Players who come to practice on time, adhere to coach’s direction, and set a good example to others tend to outperform Johnny-come-latelies and players who have their heads up in the clouds. When they want to be there, it shows. This can be modeled by the coach. Coaches have to display player talent fairly and equally so that they develop in an appropriate way. Practice Often There’s no shame in loving soccer so much your feet contact the ball every single day. You’ll also be in great shape if that’s your plan. Moves and tactics like kicking, dribbling, throwing, and passing are so fundamental to the game it’s what you see both three-year-old players and professional superstars doing to warm up. There’s no secret. Practice makes perfect. Drills Soccer drills are important. They are perhaps the best part of a practice in terms of skill development. It may seem a little boring to dribble the ball cone to cone, but it’s exciting when you are able to do it correctly in the middle of a tight match. That’s just the way soccer training works these days! Teamwork Where would we be today without teamwork? Alone. Isolated. Not winning soccer matches, that’s for sure! Kids, adults, and everybody in between could use a good healthy dose of teamwork, and that’s just what soccer provides. Keeping a Sharp Eye You have to watch the other player.
