A Pure Experience Of The Holy Kedarkantha Trek

Since my childhood, I have heard a lot of myths about kedarkantha. Being a brahman boy, I never believed in God for a second. After completing my graduation in 2021, I thought of making a life-changing trip to the kedarkantha trek, A Himalayan Mountain peak in Uttarakhand. The only reason to visit kedarkantha was that I heard many spiritual stories of this place and often wondered if it was true. So, my curiosity led me to search more about the kedarkantha trek route. I found it an ideal place for someone like me who loves adventures and needs a long trek to experience a bunch of things and not just a day trek that has nothing.

It was the end of November, so I booked my kedarkantha trek in December. As it was my first solo trek, I was pretty nervous. I knew nothing about the kedarkantha trek route, so I had to hire a trekking guide to help me complete my trek successfully.

So, we finally arrived at Sankari, stayed there for a night, and prepared for the trek to kedarkantha base camp via Juda ka Talab. It was a great river with a peaceful vibe that could easily convince you to sit there for a while doing nothing. It was one of the most vibrant places I had ever been to, with a calm and composed nature all around. While staying in camps, I felt on top of the earth. We stayed in tents at the icy places where there was nothing but a white sheet of ice everywhere around us. This was the critical reason to do the kedarkantha trek in December to live in camps while experiencing snowfalls.

After that, we trekked to the kedarkantha summit. This entire experience felt so majestic. I felt holy and a sense of feeling of the existence of God. The vibrant story of my trek guide left me speechless when he told me the story of lord shiva and his existence. The snow-covered on the mountain made me feel like a walk into heaven. I have never seen something like that earlier. And then we trekked down to Sankari and stayed there for a night. Kedarkantha trek gives you a never-ending feeling of magnificent views of beautiful villages, snow paths, and stunning landscapes along with some tremendous Himalayan peaks that is a once in a lifetime opportunity for trekkers like me.

While the kedarkantha trek is not easy, it is worth giving a try to experience the divinity of lord shiva that you can’t find anywhere else in India. If there is a heaven, it indeed looks like kedarkantha. Every step taken forward in this trek has taken me a step closer to the spiritual awakening. Nothing could be more pleasant than this trek for me.
