When Did the Indian Government Compulsory the NEET Exam for Medical Studies?

For entry into undergraduate medical programmes in medical schools authorised by any law, Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act 2019 mandates the administration of a single, standardised NEET exam. Schools like AIIMS Delhi and JIPMER also use the NEET exam to admit students to their MBBS programmes.

Why is the NEET exam important?

To enter MBBS and BDS programmes recognised by the Medical Council of India and the Dental Council of India, prospective students must take the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET Exam), which the National Testing Agency administers.

Various NEET Tests

A minimum of 45% in English and Science in Class 12 is required for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme.

NEET Exam Entrance to College

All medical and dental schools in India, both public and private, need students to take the National Eligibility and Eligibility Test (NEET) to gain entry.

• The National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2023 will be given in pen-and-paper format at 500+ test centres across India. Similar to this time last year. It is anticipated that 14 international locations will host the NEET exam 2023.
• The 200 multiple-choice questions on the NEET 2023 exam paper are reduced to 180; the total number of questions is 125.
• The NEET 2023 test will consist of the following components (Biology is divided into botany and zoology). The total number of questions for each topic is 50, with 35 coming from Section A and 15 from Section B. Candidates must attempt ten questions from Section B's total of 15.
