The 35-year-old said he is entirely concentrating on performing for the Cheetahs at the instant. But he would adore demonstrating South Africa on the international stage for the fourth time. International career

Jake White, the national team's head coach, chose Steyn, then 19 years old, to represent South Africa in the Northern Hemisphere touring squad after he had only appeared in ten games (at fly-half) for the Sharks in the 2006 Currie Cup Premier Division.  Steyn played for the Sharks in the 2006 Currie Cup Premier Division and scored a long-range drop goal against Ireland.

Nonetheless, his introduction inspired the Springboks to thrash Samoa 37-0 in the second half. At Newlands Stadium in Cape Town's opening Tri-Nations matches against Australia.
