In the atmosphere containing sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and marine atmosphere, the corrosion resistance of zinc is poor, especially in the atmosphere of high temperature, high humidity and organic acid, the zinc coating is easily corroded. The standard electrode potential of zinc is -0.76V. For the steel substrate, the zinc coating is an anodic coating. It is mainly used to prevent the corrosion of steel. The quality of its protective performance is closely related to the thickness of the coating. After the zinc coating is passivated, dyed or coated with light protection agent, its protection and decoration can be significantly improved.

Zinc will oxidize in the air, and white rust will form on the surface, which is normal. If the steel pipe is hot-dip galvanized, due to the thick zinc layer, the formation of white rust will not affect the normal use, because the oxidation speed of zinc in the air is very slow. However, if it is electro-galvanized, the surface of the galvanized steel strip should be treated. There are impurities on the surface of the galvanized steel pipe, and the surface will be oxidized in a certain environment.

Galvanized steel pipe is a steel pipe made by cold-rolling or hot-rolling a steel plate, and then coating a layer of zinc on the surface. The galvanized layer on the surface will protect the steel pipe and prolong its service life. During galvanizing, an alloy film will be formed on the surface of the galvanized steel pipe to improve the corrosion resistance of the galvanized steel pipe and protect the galvanized steel pipe from external erosion.

Production process of galvanized pipe

The production process of galvanized steel pipe is mainly divided into three parts:

The first part is to process the seamless pipe or welded steel tube to be galvanized first, and decontaminate it with acid to achieve a clean and bright surface.

The second part is cleaning with chemical solvents, and then galvanized in a hot-dip galvanizing tank, which is also a very important step.

The third part is to roll the galvanized steel pipe into the warehouse.
