Тhе nехt tіmе уоu саtсh а соld, іnstеаd оf јust suррrеssіng thе sуmрtоms with an over-the-counter drugthat will make you feel tired and drowsy, help your body get rid of your cold quickly and naturally with these remedies:

Six Νаturаl Соld Remedies

Cold Nip is a blend of the three most effective Chinese herbal formulas for the common cold plus the addition of three anti-viral herbs: Andrographis, Isatis root and isatis leaf. Nothing works better, especially at the beginning of a cold to “nip it in the bud!” It can also be used preventatively if you are around someone with a cold or if you are travelling by plane when winter viruses run rampant.

Zinc helps the immune system function more effectively. Research suggests that 15 mg/day during the winter months increasing to 15 mg. 2-3 x a day at the onset of a cold will help stop a cold in the beginning and reduce the symptoms and duration. If you are taking zinc for longer than a week, be sure to supplement with 1 to 2 mg of copper as zinc depletes one’s copper stores.

Oscillococcinum is a homeopathic remedy for influenza, but it activates a person’s defense systems against cold viruses as well. Take 1/2 vial 3-4 times a day. It is particularly beneficial in the first two days of a viral infection, so start it early. May people use Cold Nip and Oscillococcinum together for the best results.

Garlic: The antiseptic properties of garlic make it one of the most effective remedies for the common cold. Make a garlic soup or take 5 cloves of garlic and 1 onion and blend with ¼ c of olive oil in a high-speed blender. Take 1 teaspoon several times a day. You can also add lots of garlic, ginger and shiitake mushrooms to a good homemade chicken soup for added immune support.

Lemon or Lime:Every morning squeeze the juice of one lemon or lime into warm water and add a teaspoon of raw honey (Manuka honey is particularly beneficial). Be sure to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.

Neti pot: Since viruses replicate in the nasal passages, help your immune system move them out by using the neti pot two to three times a day. Add a pinch of sea salt and a pinch of baking soda. The salt water restores moisture to nasal passages, lessens the inflammation of mucous membranes, washes out existing pathogens while both salt and baking soda make the environment inhospitable to the viruses and bacteria.

If you use one or two of these natural remedies, you’ll be saying good-bye to your cold before you know it.
