People used Awnings in their homes, hotels, buildings and in many places to protect their furniture, floors and carpets from sun rays. More energy is come through glass doors and windows for this we use window films and tinted glass to reduce the heat gain and glare; awnings also do the same purpose and boost energy savings. Studies of American Society told that, Heating and Air Conditioning reveal when the sun shines directly on south-facing windows, here fabric awnings reduce the heat gain by 55 to 65%. From western exposure, the heat gain reduction is 72 to 77%. Best quality Awnings have passed European testing standards for TUV certification which are recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation for protecting from harmful UV rays.

What is Awnings?

  •         Awnings are used to block direct sunlight usually they are made up of fabric or metal, which is attached top of the window and it extend outward as well as down. People installed awnings to reduce heat gain in your home up to 65% on southern windows and as much as 77% on eastern and western windows.
  •         A light-colored awning can reflect sunlight both side by maintaining a gap between the top of the awning and helps to vent heat under solid surface awning.
  •         An awning should be mounted at an angle of 45 degrees which is pleasing to the eye. Make sure that the awning does not project into the foot traffic path unless it is at six feet eight inches from the ground.
  •         The awning should come from any size based on your window size and also it depends on where the window is located. On the east or west side awning needs to covers 65 to 75 % of the window and on the south side of windows needs to cover only 45 to 60 % which produce same amount of shade.
