STYLE COMMANDMENTS: LINDA TOLPosted by catherineivey on March 17th, 2017 If you're anything like us, you spend a sizable portion of your life trying to emulate the ways of stylish women. How do they look so good while also retaining that effortless edge? Which designers are their go-tos? What are their (style) secrets? image:Snygga Balklanningar That's why we've launched Style Commandments—it's a new series that nails down the daily habits and style philosophies of chic women, from how they get dressed in the morning to their tried-and-tested approach to investing in fashion. This round? The Amsterdam-based street style extraordinaire and online influencer Linda Tol, whose androgynous-yet-feminine aesthetic has earned her a loyal Instagram following and plenty of appearances on the pages of glossy magazines à la BAZAAR. I love the style of Leandra Medine, Evangelie Smyrniotaki, Pernille Teisbaek, Véronique Tristram, Gilda Ambrosio and Jan Michael Quammie. What I love about their style is that they wear the trends of the season but style them in their own unique way. Personality is very important. I would love to raid Anna Dello Russo's wardrobe. She has a seemingly endless supply of all designer clothing, vintage and new. At the beginning of each season I create a list of must-have items which I mix and match with the basics in my existing wardrobe. I'll ususally buy one or two bags every season, because I love to buy them, and one or two pairs of shoes. I never invest in total looks. Nowadays fashion is more about 'It' items than about trends, but I always keep to my own style regardless of what is currently "in" or "out". You can use the same items season after season, you just need to learn how to style them in a different way. I'll buy 'It' pieces every season but I'll style them in my own way. I don't copy the look from the runway. See More:Langa Festklanningar Like it? Share it!More by this author |
