ISO certificate for Laboratory Quality Management System

NABL is an autonomous body in India that has been established with an aim to implement a quality management system in the laboratories that look at the competence of the testing and calibration procedures with the international standard. The NABL has been formulated under the aegis of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, and is registered under the Societies Act. Government of India has given authorization to the NABL as a sole source of the accreditation body that will look for the testing and calibration procedures in the laboratories.

The standard has been accepted by all laboratories either in India or abroad. The certification is applicable to all laboratories irrespective of their regardless of their ownership, legal status, size and degree of independence. NABL accreditation complies with the ISO/IEC 17011:2004 and Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) MR001. APLAC and APLAC and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) have authorized NABL as a signatory authority that deals with the laboratory accreditation under a Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs). Under these MRAs’ it is certified that an NABL accredited laboratory reports is equivalent to the 76 accreditations that is prevailing in 64 economies. ISO  certification Delhi is an international recognition that every laboratory will seek for the accreditation. NABL certification will give complete assurance to the customer regarding the use of the products from the accredited organization. An accredited laboratory can build customer trust easily s compared to the non-accredited laboratories. 

The standard of NABL has been re-evaluated by the 4 members of APLAC in July 2008 and given four year extension to the scope of the Medical Testing laboratory as per new international standard ISO 15189:2007. NABL has introduced a new dimension in the accreditation process by the name of “Accreditation of PT Providers” whose standard is based according to the   ISO/IEC 17043 “Conformity Assessment- General Requirements of Proficiency Testing” standard. The standard will remain under the regulation of the ILAC / APLAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) Signatory Status. NABL hold a website listing all the name of the accredited laboratories in a directory. From where a user can access the list of the NABL accredited laboratories.
