Can Quartz Tiles Be Used With Underfloor Heating

Posted by RachelHJM on April 22nd, 2017

From the heat dissipation part, thermal conductivity of quartz tile is better than that of the wood floor, high thermal efficiency, will reach the requested heat degree faster. The deformation of Quartz tile is small, but if there is a problem with the water pipe, it will be much trouble to do repairing and need to dig the quartz tiles out, also, the inadvertently treatment may damage heat pipe. But the floor will be more convenient, maintenance and repair of geothermal pipes are much easier. And the floor is more comfortable, feeling is much better, so it is better to use floor as underfloor heating.

Material could be used for thermal floor must meet several conditions:

1.floor dimensional should be stable and can withstand temperature change without any damaged;

2.no deformation, cracking, thermal expansion and contraction coefficient is small;

3.environmental protection, free of formaldehyde and harmful gas release;

4.not afraid of water soaking (in case that heat pipe damages and water outflow to damage the floor). Material only can meet the above conditions can be used as a geothermal floor. Solid wood flooring, laminate flooring are not appropriate for geothermal, they not only easy to deformation and cracking, and under the floor heating condition, there will formaldehyde release. If the floor damped, it will be mildew, moth eaten, corrosion and discoloration. Therefore, material for thermal floors, should be thin, petty, should not be thick or wide.
