At the beginning of the 12th and 13th centuries, European Gothic art was the mainstream of the iron art with the overall characteristics of bright and gorgeous colors and gorgeous shapes. From the 14th to 16th centuries, the iron ornaments adopted the simple, lively and elegant style, and spread into the folk life, and laid more emphasis on decoration than structure.

European

In the 17th century, European metal furniture became mature and Baroque style prevailed. During this period, iron decoration gradually spread into all walks of life and was widely used in home decoration.

In the 18th century, iron art became more mature, and Rococo style became the mainstream style of the times with the pursuit of extremely tedious modeling and brilliant bright colors, and there was extensive use of plant patterns.

The tide of "modern art" movement began to emerge in the early 19th century. During this period, the ancient Egyptian culture and the Mayan culture were excavated and explored. Compared with the traditional Baroque curve in Europe, both the appearance and the structure were obviously different.

China

The development process of iron art in China is vague, but the Chinese iron decorative style is quite unique.

The real rise of Chinese iron art began after 1980s which was after China's reform and opening. During this period, the European iron art was gradually introduced. In the beginning, anti-theft doors and windows were the mainstream products with very little art and technology. With the development of reform and opening up, these artists have integrated Chinese elements based on the European iron art, and given more play to traditional Chinese culture. As a result, iron products in this period were classical and practical.

Since the development of the domestic iron art, the Chinese artists have used iron materials and craft characteristics, combined with its special qualities, and integrated with Chinese culture. Folding Tray Table, Antique Coffee Table, Portable Side Table were adopted by Chinese.

Integration of Chinese and Western culture makes Chinese iron art classic, simple, modern and fashionable. We may say that Chinese iron art brings the fresh and simple style to the impetuous society nowadays.
