NFL denies Josh Gordon's petition for reinstatement

The exodus of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon rages on.

The NFL ( do you need the madden mobile coins for sale?) has waived Gordon's reinstatement petition, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, per a league source.

USA Today's Tom Pelissero initial reported the development.

Gordon, 26, filed papers in March to get his indefinite suspension elevated. It was no sure bet reinstatement will be granted after the pass-catcher of your accord entered an in-patient treatment facility last October to help, in his words, "gain full control of my entire life. "

Earlier this offseason, Gordon's business manager, Michael Johnson, told ESPN's Adam Schefter that this receiver was faring properly in his recovery.

"Josh is living with me at night and is in the absolute right place mentally that he has been doing dating back years ahead of entering the NFL, " Johnson said. "He has taken the right steps to treat his issues and has followed a very strict protocol that this league and our team here has outlined for him. He's also in the most beneficial shape of his life and feels best of all than he did when he had his breakout year in 2013. This will be a particular year for Josh and we are all very proud of the way in which he has taken the required process to turn his lifetime around. "

Anything resembling a "special year" will be on hold for Gordon, who hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since 2014.

The Browns weren't possessing their breath for his return, having signed veteran Kenny Britt within the offseason to pair using 2016 first-round wideout Corey Coleman. Behind the duo, Cleveland has second-year receivers Rashard Higgins, Ricardo Louis and a new fellow flock of untested targets.

It's hardly an all-star party, but waiting around for Gordon for getting back on track has developed into a fool's errand.
