Get Rid of Vaginal Odor

While vaginal odor is a common thing among women, it shouldn’t be left alone as it is. The odor can be really faint up to a fishy and foul smell when it gets to the worst part. The question is how can we get rid of it completely?

First, we should know the causes of vaginal odor. Poor hygiene is a sure-fire way for this to happen. Aside from that, hormone changes and vaginal infection can make it emit a foul odor. So how can we prevent this from happening?

Proper and Thorough Cleaning

It is no secret that there are days wherein taking a bath or quick shower can be a great challenge. We’re not here to judge. However, if you completely, especially your private parts, leave them be - we can say that you’re doing it wrong.

You don’t have to douche. We’re actually against that since it can disturb the natural balance in your vagina. It can only make things worse. Regular and proper cleaning can wash away sweat, dirt, and another culprit of vaginal odor. Just stay away from perfumed products as those can irritate the sensitive area when they go inside the vagina. If they will be used, make sure those will be only in contact with the outside parts.

Watch What You Wear

Do you love wearing cute underwear prints? Are you a sucker for the smoothness of satin and silk? We won’t stop you from doing that, but be reminded that those materials don't make your vagina area comfortable. They are not breathable, unlike 100% cotton underwear.

You should also lessen the tight clothing, especially in the groin area. If you’re out the whole day with very tight pants, you’ll sweat down there. And with sweat, bacterias can grow rapidly and cause vaginal odor at the end of the day.

Balanced and Healthy Diet

Everything that goes inside your mouth will affect your body and will affect your vagina too. Add some probiotics to your diet to help your vagina resist making an odor. Yogurt is rich in probiotics and is available in most markets.

Aim for a balanced diet that has a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean protein meats, and grains. Don’t forget to keep the body hydrated as well. This will affect your vagina too.

These three easy steps will make your vaginal odor go away or at least be lesser in a period of time. If you don’t have any odor to worry about, these tips are also helpful in preventing them.
