A dog collar citronella can strengthen your relationship with neighbors.

Some breeds of dogs bark more than other breeds do. Although woofing may be adorable at some point, constant and extreme barking of dogs can be a bane to you and your neighbors. Obviously, no one wants to own a dog that incessantly barks. To control your dog’s aggressive barking, a dog collar citronella is a very effective solution as it interrupts your pet from extreme barking. As a result, your well-behaved dog can keep the peace between you and your neighbors.

A dog collar citronella works similar to an electrical collar that it shuts down excessive woofing in dogs. But according to the Animal Behavior Clinic at Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine, the former has been proven more effective and gentler than the latter approach of solving barking problems.  This behavioral management apparently uses technology to deliver a harmless mist of citronella without inflicting pain to your dog. Since dogs have a natural aversion to the scent of citronella, this will cause your pet to stop woofing so as not to trigger the highly offensive smell.

In three different activation methods, a dog collar citronella is considered ideal for owners to control too much barking of dogs. The remote citronella has a typical range of activation of 400 yards, making it ideal for dogs whose owners are always around them at the time of yapping. On the other hand, if the owner is not at home, a sound or sensor citronella activation is highly ideal, while for the rainy season or for dogs that are always around water, a waterproof citronella should be considered. Aside from the features, it is also important to note the correlation of the weight of the bark control collar to the size of your dog. That is, a collar that is too small or too big for your dog can deter the efficiency of such anti-bark product.

While some pet owners are hesitant to use any kinds of anti-bark collars, a number of people have used and claimed citronella collars to be efficient in reducing extreme barking of their dogs. People find the lemony whiff of citronella pleasant, but animals do not. Generally, a dog collar citronella is used by spraying natural oil towards the dog’s snout without causing any harm. So if you are worrying that an electronic collar will hurt your dog, you can definitely go for a citronella bark control collar. Besides, this is also a cost-effective way to deal with excessive noise produced by your dog.

For maximum barking management, you can use the dog collar citronella spray as soon as your dog begins making extreme and constant barks in combination with a command, such as “stop”, “enough”, or “behave.” The strong smell is a deterrent that discourages the dog from woofing. Your dog will eventually associate the command with the spray, and you will just need to utter the command word to stop your pet from extreme barking. Once your dog is trained not to bark awfully to any further extent, you are also able to build a peaceful relationship with your neighbors and guests.

While barking is just something normal for dogs to do, its extreme sense can strain your relationship with your neighbors. To avoid conflicts, use a dog collar citronella and create a peaceful environment in your neighborhood.
