How To Stay Motivated As A Teenager

Posted by Sara Jane on November 10th, 2017

Being a teenager in this crazy world is not easy. Staying motivated and inspired through these difficult times can get exhausting and overwhelming. Things like school, bullies, friends who are really not friends, dating, and figuring out your career are so hard sometimes I want to curl up in a ball and cry.

So I decided to write a list of things that keep me motivated and inspired:

1. Inspirational Quotes

Yes I know these are cheesy and everyone uses them. But I love reading lists of motivational quotes because they help me remember what is important in life and that life is supposed to be challenging and not easy. One of my favorites is this one:

“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.” ― Roy T. Bennett.

2.  Nick Vujicic

This guy has no arms or legs and he is the happiest person I have ever seen. His smile lights up the room and he travels around helping people. Plus he has a beautiful wife and family and shows the world that no matter what, you can have a great life.

3.  My Dog

I love playing with my dog not only because he is so much fun. But also we rescued him from the pound after he was beaten and tortured by his previous owners. He was so skinny because they never fed him and shaking when we got him. But now he is so happy and loving  which shows us the power of healing and forgiveness. He's so amazing!

4. My Mom

My mom grew up in South America with no money and she was sold into child slavery at the age of 11. She had such  a hard time as a child but when I see her smile, it shows me that no matter what has happened you can still have a good life.

5.  Motivational Speakers

I love listening to all the speakers on YouTube. People like Tony Robbins, Les Brown, and Bob Proctor have such great things to say. Every time I listen to the video it really helps me get focused and excited.

Its funny because I used to think life would get easier when I got older. But I can see all the adults having problems and it seems like they don't so I will continue to work on myself and not get down.
