In the society, there are different types of family groupings and households under where children are raised. The rich have a different way of raising their children similar to the poor families. A child raised in a rich family always gets basic things but in terms of parental guidance the child may get little. Study shows that in most rich families, parents are engaged in other activities thus leaving duties of taking care of children to the maids. Children raised in families that experienced hard economic times usually get full parent guidance and advice because parents have sometimes to stay with their kids. A child raised by single-parent family has a high probability of experiencing different developmental challenges compared to their peers from two parents. Some of the expected outcomes include low academic performance and poor behaviors, (Barbour et al., 2011).

In identifying social identity development of a child, study shows that the community engagement in line with positive family engagement is required. Community has the role of providing the required services and resources to families on how to educate and care for their children. It is through establishment of educative programs community setting encompasses the skills, dispositions, and knowledge that is required to handle all the aspects of family diversity as ethnicity, and home language among others. A respectful family works closely with the community in developing professional early childhood practices. Social programs are developed to educate families on the appropriate measures that need to be applied so as create a suitable environment for children social identity development, (Barbour et al., 2011).

Handling families from diverse culture is something technical that requires skills and commitment especially when children are involved. The professional skills I have always assisted me understand the needs of different cultures and people with different needs. It is through experience I am able to interact with diverse families and understand what they want because there are times when handling patients with different needs because a great challenge. When you understand the needs of a given family setting, it because easier to determine on the needs and strategies appropriate to handle the situation. Study shows that successful school and home relations, as well as interactions, are suitable for positive learning for children and their families. My professional experience has played a great role in handling diverse families because I am able to interact with parents and understand what they want, (Barbour et al., 2011).

Dealing with children in their early development stages, there are certain dispositions and skills that need to be engaged in families in an inclusive and respectful way. A best teacher or the best parent is not the one who forces the mind of the child with the large amount of factual data within a short time, but it is that person who arouses moral enthusiasm or kindles an inner fire that inspires the child during the developmental stage. It is essential to reveal the permanency and worth of cultural, spiritual, and moral values during the child developmental stages, (Barbour et al., 2011).
