It is a common assumption that synthetic carpets are more durable than those made out of wool: after all, synthetic carpet Tennessee use man-made fabric, and you would imagine that only the strongest and best fibers would be used. By contrast, wool carpets are, by nature, much more durable than synthetic ones. This makes them ideal for anyone looking for a carpet that will last them for years to come. Wool keeps its appearance better than manmade fibers. Tiles can be supplied in manmade and wool.

One of the most common reasons for getting a new carpet is that the old one is stained or otherwise soiled beyond repair. This often happens with synthetic carpets because their fibres are finer and often translucent, which means they trap and show up dirt and other stains more easily. Wool, though, is made up of opaque fibres that are much more resistant to stains, so wool carpets are less likely to show dirt.

Also, wool carpets are generally easier to clean than synthetic carpets because of the nature of the fibres. This means that if you do get a stain on your carpet, you will be much more likely to remove it with either steam or water than you would with a synthetic alternative. This reduces the chances of you needing to replace your carpets so often, making wool a fantastic option for longevity.

Another reason wool carpets are so durable is because of their 'bounce factor'. You probably know that when you pick up a piece of sheep's wool and squeeze it in your hand until it becomes a little ball, as soon as you release it, it will bounce or spring back into its original shape. Wool carpets have very similar properties. This means that, while if you buy a synthetic carpet, its fibres will tend to wear down and flatten after a while, a wool carpet will retain its springy properties for much longer. This also makes the carpet much nicer to walk on and, therefore, a fantastic option for your home.

If you still aren't convinced by wool carpets, consider this: if you choose a synthetic carpet, then it will be much easier to damage with heat. So, for instance, if you were to accidentally drop an iron on a synthetic carpet, the fibres would be likely to melt, as would the glue holding the carpet together. This can leave an ugly mark on the carpet and irreparably damage it. If, however, you choose a wool carpet, then this would not be such a risk. This is because wool cannot melt and so is largely resistant to the heat treatment often used to make other carpets. This means that wool carpets can be very good for children's bedrooms as well as other areas of the house. Overall, wool carpets are extremely durable, hard-wearing and resistant to most stains, making them the ideal solution for anyone looking for a long-lasting carpeting option.
