Path Of Exile Elementalist Is In A Decent Spot Already

In Path of Exile, I've played an elementalist poets pen VD to 95 this league and it didnt feel bad at all. mastermind of discord + beacon of ruin are great ascendency perks, the only thing that stops elementalist from being a "top" class and on par with inquisitor/assassin in terms of power are the really awful 2 pointers, namely: Shaper of Desolation and Pendulum of Destruction.

1. Shaper of Desolation:

Every 14 seconds: Gain Chilling Conflux for 4 seconds, Gain Shocking Conflux for 4 seconds, Gain Igniting Conflux for 4 seconds, Gain Chilling, Shocking, and Igniting Conflux for 2 seconds. Don't forget, keeping an eye on poe currency buy is important.

My personal opinion is that alternating/rotating buffs are bad design. I get the idea behind that but in reality nobody wants to play around those because its clunky and makes for a very unpleasant mapping experience. so what happens is that you plan your build as if those buffs didnt exist and if they come up its a "nice bonus" at best.

What im asking for is consistency. you could split Shaper of Desolation into three nodes, each being: all your damage ignites OR shocks OR chills. or "gain XXX of elemental damage as extra fire/lightning/cold damage" etc. im not talking about actual numbers, just a change towards consistent buffs that you can actually build around.

2. Pendulum of Destruction:

Gain 75% increased Area of Effect for 5 seconds, Gain 75% increased Elemental Damage for 5 seconds.

same thing here. I've seen good suggestions like "75% inc aoe/2 additional projectiles if you have killed recently" - "75% inc ele dmg if you haven't killed recently". same power but it's consistent and makes way more sense this way.

Elementalist is not bad, but the two pointers are super unreliable and feel useless. fix those 2 nodes and elementalist will be a very unique and exciting class to pick up again. What's your opinions? If you lack of currency in game, visit https://www.u4gm.com/path-of-exile.
