The Harmful Toxins That Live Inside You and How a Sauna Can Remove Them

Harmful chemicals are all around us, from the car exhaust, to second hand smoke, to metals, plastics, and chemicals. We experience all these things each and every day, which is why detox becomes necessary.

But there isn’t a real reason to panic. Toxins in the body are good as long as they are in small doses, due to a phenomenon known as hormesis, which causes your cells to work more effectively from stress. Your body may have some issues with clearing specific toxins, however. You can eliminate toxins from plastics with no trouble, but a small percentage of it will always get stored inside your fat cells, interfering with hormones and accumulating over time. Toxins from metals, mold, and even pharmaceuticals can work in the same ways, making you generally unhealthier little by little.

If you are looking for detox in Central Jersey, you can come across a few detox programs to help you get rid of these toxins that are harming your body. But not every known type of detox will work, such as simple juice and water cleanses. These detoxes are counter-productive, on account of depriving your body of nutrients that it needs to work properly. There are many other ways to detox effectively with a number of benefits to boot.

One effective way to detox is by participating in multiple sauna sessions. Sweating and perspiring does more than just cool you off in hot temperatures. Sweating will help your body get rid of toxins from both metal and xenobiotic compounds. People with a high heavy metal intake are proven to swat out more toxins from cadmium, arsenic, lead, and mercury. Sweating can also eliminate bisphenol-A, or BPA from your body, which will build up in your fat cells.

There is a heated argument to be made about which is the best type of sauna for detoxification. There are traditional saunas, and there are infrared saunas, in which infrared lights are what cause your body to perspire. Here are some major differences between regular saunas and infrared saunas when looking for detox centers in Central Jersey.

Regular saunas create environments that are high in temperature and low in humidity and the source of these saunas include rocks and water. It will typically be hot for up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Water is splashed over these rocks when they are heated, to create a type of stream or mist to strengthen this feeling of heat.

Infrared saunas, on the other hand, provide an environment that is far less intense. Infrared rays are designed to primarily heat the body, while not heating the air around you as much. For people who like the relaxing experience that a sauna provides, but doesn’t like being in a traditional sauna, the infrared sauna is a nice alternative. Infrared saunas typically make a person sweat at up to 150 degrees, opposed to 200 degrees from a regular sauna.

It is important to know that the experience from these two saunas is not the same. If you have enjoyed traditional saunas before, do not expect to feel the same from an infrared sauna.

With all things considered, one type of sauna is not considered better than the other, as it all comes down to personal preference. Some people enjoy detoxing with a traditional sauna, as the heated air they surround themselves in is more relaxing and more satisfying. Others will prefer infrared saunas for they do not get as hot, they are typically cheaper than regular saunas, and their bodies feel more energized after their session.
