One of the most common problems among pregnant women is nausea, which happens specifically in the morning, and the feeling of burning in the stomach. We will learn in this article the causes of heartburn and the stomach of the pregnant and treatment methods.

The causes of heartburn for the pregnant woman

  • Progesterone hormone increases during pregnancy. It relaxes the upper valve of the stomach, leading to gastric acid discharge to the esophagus.
  • Inflammation of the uterus, it increases the flow of acidic substances from the stomach because of its push.  It causes heartburn in the stomach.
  • Physical and hormonal changes in the body, it occurs during pregnancy.

 Methods of treatment of heartburn

  • Avoid placing strong spices during food preparation.
  • Stay away from drinking soft drinks such as cola, as well as reduce the caffeine in coffee, tea and Nescafe.
  • Stay away from fast food, fried food.
  • Take some medications sold in pharmacies, but it must be under the supervision of a specialist doctor.
  • Drink a cup of milk, specifically skimmed, where the milk encapsulates the membrane that lining the esophagus, making it non-burnable.
  • Visit your doctor immediately if the heartburn persists and you do not respond to any of the treatments.
  • Stop eating before sleeping for two hours.
  • Wear loose clothing, in addition to avoid relaxing for at least one hour after eating.
  • Avoid fatty foods such as meat, as well as foods that increase the feeling of burning like chocolate.

Foods that reduce acidity
