Feasibility Studies for Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) & Exhaust Gas Clea

Posted by Simfwd on January 3rd, 2019

As per IMO guidelines, on-board Ballast Water Treatment(BWT) systems will soon need to be installed on most ships. There are several manufacturers of BWT systems offering different treatment systems – UV systems, chemical injection systems & electrolytic system. There are several factors which need to be considered to choose a system which is best suited to a particular vessel.

Additionally, ship owners will also be needed to make the decision to either install exhaust gas scrubbers or to switch to low-sulphur marine fuel oil.
