Yellow vests until the end of the year

Neither glitter nor rhinestones for this New Year's Eve, but reflective tapes. The yellow safety vests of course.

After weeks of social protest, those who occupy, sometimes since the first day, the roundabout Alphonse-June and the "small" toll Bandol were not waking "wisely" at home. So, like every night or almost since November 17, they found themselves again yesterday. An appointment becomes almost a routine. A natural gesture.

Over the weeks, the Champs-Elysees became the epicenter of Paris this protest movement protean that gathered its strongest 282,000 people in France on November 17.

These demonstrations were repeatedly enmeshed with violence. In total, ten people have died since the beginning of the protest and several thousand have been injured, sometimes seriously, both on the side of the demonstrators and the police.

If the mobilization has decreased significantly in recent weeks, a call for an "act VIII" on the Champs Elysees on the evening of December 31, "festive and non-violent", was relayed on social networks.

Loic Coene, a 28-year-old industrial technician, drove a 2-hour drive from Haute-Marne to "celebrate January 1st for the first time in Paris". He wanted to show that "it is not lost, that the gathering is not dead".
