Basic Troubleshooting Method for QuickBooks MAC Error

QuickBooks Mac Error While Creating a Backup:

This particular issue arises when the user is trying to create a backup of their company files in QuickBooks for Mac 2013 and 2014 versions.

  • Open QuickBooks Mac and then click on File and Utility tab.
  • Select Verify Data.
  • Then tap on Hard Drive<Users<Library<Logs<QuickBooks.Log

  • Click on File Menu.
  • Click on Utilities.

STEP1: Check if QuickBooks Server is running and the company file is on Sharing Mode

  • You have to check the status of QuickBooks server, click on Go and then Applications.
  • Double-click on the app.
  • If the file is not shared then click on Start Sharing.
  • Click on Select and Click + so as to add the file for sharing.

STEP2:

  • You have to check the Firewall settings in QuickBooks Mac you have to click on the Apple menu and then click on the system performance.
  • Go to Security & Privacy and Firewall.
  • Select Firewall options and Unlock it in case it is locked.
  • If the QuickBooks server app is on "Allow Incoming Connections".
  • And if the file is not listed then you have to click on Select and then click + so as to add the file for sharing.

STEP 3:

  • Click on Apple and System Preference.
  • Now, click on Sharing and File Sharing.
  • Click on shared Folder and also on + under the shared column and Add.
  • Never forget to click on Read and Write for Everyone which is located under the user's column permission settings.

STEP 4:

  • To check if network configurations are correct you have to unplug the Ethernet cable or the port.
  • Restart your system.
  • Open your QuickBooks software and now try to activate the multi-user mode.

STEP 5:

  • Click on File and then New Finder Windows in order to check the Bonjour service shared computers.
  • Check the port- 56565 TCP, 5297 TCP, 5298 TCP/UDP, 5353 UDP is open.
