Cloud is the Way towards Big Success though minimum Investment

Cloud computing has come a long way since it was first engineered some 5 decades back. Now-a-days CIOs don’t even have an option to choose a technology which would upgrade their business because cloud computing has already proved itself as the next best innovation to help industries flourish with maximum capabilities. A decade ago, the masses were confused over the use and implementation of cloud technology in their business. This was purely because they didn’t trusted cloud computing’s ability to transform their business while giving them maximum competitive advantage. Another factor which has been keeping organization’s choices far from cloud adoption is that they still believe that cloud is an expensive technology to adopt and that they won’t benefit much through it.

This is where I would start debating over the cost-effectiveness of cloud computing. Investments in cloud technology gives real value and benefits like improved business efficiency and greater process management. A large number of audience still confuse the cloud with traditional computing processes, I can safely say that every new innovation or technological advancement tends to confuse those who are not well-versed with technological improvements over a period of time.

CTOs or CIOs who have implemented cloud in their enterprises or organizations can confirm that cloud has been nothing but profitable for their business. Termed as the next big thing in computing and data management, cloud computing has a promising future but still people often ask where is the real cost savings in cloud computing?

Call the transition to Cloud a smart move because here are some of the points I would like to put forward in order to prove how cloud has been reducing costs and instead increases the ROI. Have a look:

Reduced Upfront Investments

Cloud advocates believe that cloud computing offers an economic benefit as compared to in-house IT. This is very true because while moving to the cloud, the user/client does not need to purchase the hardware right away because the cloud environment eliminates the need for any investment in servers or storage systems. The shift in cloud expenditure from Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) to Operating Expenditure (OPEX) is exactly the point which proves that users buy computing services rather than the physical infrastructure.

Reduced Costs

Saving huge IT costs is an essential point for CTOs while considering the shift towards cloud computing. No matter the size of business, there are various cost benefits by making the move to cloud computing. An IT head can save substantial capital costs by spending less on infrastructure and software. By availing computing services over the internet, a client can avoid recruiting dedicated teams for various departments and save energy consumptions. With Pay-Per-Consume model, cloud services come at a very cheaper price which is typically much lower than On-Premise models.

Better Security

Cloud service providers cater to multiple industries and so they ensure high level security protocols to keep the sensitive data safe by sticking to acceptable security standards. Cloud improves data security by strong access controls, data encryption, security intelligence and continuous security audits. It is easy for a cloud service provider to take security measures for all the users on their cloud as they implement the data security practices because they cannot afford to take data security lightly.

Better Productivity

Cloud adoption takes merely 10-12 hours to set up and is notably faster than conventional installations. As cloud computing offers easy accessibility of services from anywhere at any time; enterprises can benefit by increase in workforce productivity. Employees can merge their operations and get them done quickly through cloud integration faster processes.

Better Business Continuity

Cloud offers security services, back-up services, monitoring and management services which are essential to carry-out a much efficient business. When a certain technical issue arises in a company, it is important to solve it quickly so that the business does not suffer due any disruption. When a user experiences downtime, they tend to lose a great deal of money and it can even result in losing customers. Cloud computing has been improved a lot since the past 3 years and now they guarantee better uptime and data backups so that there are no losses in any way a client might face.

Conclusion

There are always questions being raised over the cost benefits a cloud service can provide and today, there are millions of users who can confidently support this point because they have experienced better business functionality through very minimal investment in cloud computing.
