The Role Of The DOME Fiber Closure Terminal Box

DOME Fiber Closure Termination Box (FTB), also known as Fiber Optic Termination Box (OTB), is a small form factor compact fiber management product. It is widely used in FTTx cabling for fiber cabling and cable management. In some cases, fiber optic terminal boxes can be considered small sizes of fiber distribution frames and optical distribution frames (ODFs).

Currently, there are a large number of fiber optic terminal boxes and other equipment for cable management on the market. The names and models of these fiber optic terminal boxes differ from the designs and concepts of different manufacturers. Therefore, identifying the detailed classification of fiber optic terminal boxes can be a daunting task.

Depending on the size and application, fiber optic junction boxes can be broadly classified into fiber optic patch panels and fiber optic junction boxes. In appearance, the fiber distribution frame is small in size and the fiber junction box is small.

Fiber optic patch panels are wall mounted or mounted and typically have a 19 inch size. Typically, there is a tray inside the fiber optic cabinet that helps maintain and protect the fiber optic link. Various types of fiber optic adapters can be pre-installed in the fiber optic patch panel as an interface through which the fiber optic cabinet can be connected to external devices.

In addition to fiber distribution frames, fiber optic junction boxes can also be used for fiber distribution and organization. Although a typical fiber optic junction box has 12 ports or 24 ports, there are currently 8 ports, 36 ports, 48 ??ports, and 96 port fibers on the market. They usually have FC or ST adapters mounted on the panel, either on the wall or horizontally.

Moreover, according to the design, the fiber end box can be further divided into wall-mounted and rack-mounted.

The wall-mounted fiber optic terminal box is designed for pre-connected cables, field installation of connectors or field splicing of pigtails. They provide the ideal solution for building entry terminals, telecommunications rooms, major cross-connects, computer rooms and other controlled environments.

Rack-mount slide-out fiber optic terminal boxes are commonly used for fiber splicing, distribution, termination, patching, storage, and management. They support cross-connect and interconnect architectures and provide an interface between external device cables and transport devices.
