Sawm (Fasting): Sawm or fasting is the third pillar of Islam which is obligated to Muslim at the adult age. Sawm usually means, refraining from food and drink. It is a characteristic Islamic compulsion which is implemented in the ninth month of Islamic almanac commonly known as the month of Ramadan.

Surely, it is the Fard (Obligated) Ibadah which is applied to both men and women at the adult age. It starts from before the emergence of the white line of the day (Sun) and ends to evening. “And eat and drink until the white line of the day seems. Hence complete your fast until the sundown”. (Al-Quran)

Muslims eagerly wait for the month of Ramadan because it is the month of blessing, so that’s why those who live in the UK go to perform Umrah through UK Umrah Packages 2020 in this blessed month. As Ramadan starts, the whole bad spirits are locked. So, Satan could not attack to astray man from right into wrong. It is not just an Islamic tradition but in other religions such as Christianity, Judaism, and Hinduism, etc. it is also performed.

Nevertheless, firmness and cleansing are apparently found in the religion of Islam. In the Holy Quran Allah (SWT) says: “O followers! Sawm (Fasting) have been applied (Fard) to you, as these were obligated before you, so that you may pick up self-control”. (Al-Quran)
Likewise the Holy Quran, Hadiths also tell the significance of Ramadan.

The Messenger of God said, “Whoever keeps fasting for achieving the pure bliss of God, so Almighty Allah forgives his/her all earlier sins”.

Muftirat (Elimination) of Sawm: The actions of Fasting man which break the Sawm is called the Muftirat. Certainly, there are some deeds which are caused by the elimination of Sawm.

• Eating (intentionally)
• Drinking (Intentionally)
• Smoking (Inhaling)
• Intercourse whatever sharia or non-sharia
• Committed Shirk
• Bathing very long time
• Vomiting
• The occurrence of the menstrual period up to the dawn

The purpose of Sawm is that man should abstain from exploitation, offensiveness, deceitful, dishonest and all wrong deeds which are forbidden in Islam. But, Fasting man should remember to Allah (SWT) immensely and remain the whole day with spirituality. To avoid above-mentioned actions, people must visit the holy Kaaba by Islamic Travel to perform Umrah.

However, if the Fasting man breaks the Sawm intentionally in different circumstances, so he/she has to pay the Kaffarah (Penalty) in accordance with Islamic teachings.
