Posted by Timothy on April 18th, 2019

As a student, writing essays and research papers can be frustrating and even defeating at times. You find yourself postponing to write until the last minute especially if you don’t know how to write the assignment.

As human beings, our minds will naturally encourage us to do what is fun and easy in the moment instead of what we perceive to be difficult and boring. That’s why it’s easier to sit down and watch your favorite sitcom or spend hours chatting with your friends instead of writing your assignment.

But as you probably know, short-term pleasure leads to long-term pain and short-term pain leads to long-term pleasure. Chatting with your friends or watching T.V is fun and exciting at the moment. But how do you expect to perform if you start working on your assignments at the eleventh hour? Remember, your grades will determine the trajectory of your life to some extent.

But what if you loved writing? What if you started working on your assignments as soon as you could and you did everything you could to excel? Well, it wouldn’t be as exciting as chatting with your friends but you’d increase the chances of excelling in your studies and in life.

The difference between those who love writing and those who don’t comes down to attitude. When you change your attitude, the world around you changes. If you are reading this article, I assume you want to make writing a fun and enjoyable experience. How can you do this? Let me show you how.

1. Write what you love

During your free time, you don’t have to write your assignments or anything related to school. What do you love? Maybe it’s travelling, horse riding, technology, automobile or Robotdon essay grader.

When you write what you love, you’ll look forward to writing something every day. As you do this a couple of times, you’ll start writing faster with little to no errors. Plus, time will just be flying when writing. You’ll learn how to be yourself when writing. Soon, you won’t experience the stress and anxiety related to classwork writing.

2. Patience is key

Most people in the world are impatient. They have embraced the microwave mentality. They want what they want right there. But everything worthwhile in life takes time. Building muscles take time. Learning a new skill takes time. Building a house takes time.

Do not rush or put pressure on yourself so much. Allow yourself to make mistakes and learn from them. Writing is a skill. And like all other skills, it takes time to be a great writer.

3. Read other people’s work

To enjoy the writing process and become a good writer, you need to read the works of other writers. Reading great books will inspire you to write better. Plus, you’ll increase your vocabulary. You’ll easily change your writing styles.

Reading poorly-written books is also a good idea as it will help you to understand what makes a bad writing bad and you’ll naturally avoid them. If you don’t feel like writing at the moment, you’d better read other peoples’ works.

Conclusion

These three tips discussed above will help you change your attitude towards writing. The truth is writing is fun. And you can excel in it. These tips can be implemented by anyone at any time. Which tip(s) will you start using today?
