The current labor market is competitive, and one of the best strategies to increase competitiveness is personal and professional development. Having pursued my bachelor degree in engineering technology and management, I believe pursuing master degree in engineering management will not only increase my competitiveness but also improve my contribution in the field. After completing my under graduate studies in engineering technology and management, I realized there is a great potential opportunity and plenty to learn to integrate engineering and management. The undergraduate course stirred a lot of interest in engineering management as the need to manage the huge large of technology and engineering workforce and project increases. One of the common trends in the technology and engineering industry is the commercialization of innovation. The flexible program offered by Wichita University enables me to expand my technical engineering knowledge and develop important practical business skills to help me contribute effectively in the commercialization of innovations. Wichita’s M aster of Engineering promises to equip learners with planning, decision making, and managerial skill. The skills best suit the demand of the modern workplace that require innovative leaders and managers to manage the ever evolving field of engineering and technology. One of my key career goals is to the chief executive officer of a technology-based firm or to lead an institution offering engineering course to young students. Therefore, the opportunity to pursue a master degree is a progressive move toward achieving my career goal. Wichita University offers me the best and most convenient choice to pursue my education. As alumni of the university, particularly the school of engineering believes Wichita match the best universities in terms of quality. During my undergraduate studies, I realized the great importance Wichita places on evidence-based learning and on-hand experience. The university combines quality programs with real-life and experience-based learning. Evidence-based learning and real-life best prepare learners for industrial and market role. Wichita provides a conducive environment that favors academic activities while offering students the right type of exposure. Wichita program promises a customized program where an individual with a technical background can easily expand their undergraduate education to pursue a career in business consulting. It is my conviction that the master in engineering management will help me integrate vital skills to succeed in a dynamic and high technology world we live in today. The program offers cross-disciplinary curriculums that will enable me expand my scope and understanding of the various facets of the organization. Most organizations are integrating enterprise resource planning to automate their functions and integrate their processes. These organizations are ultimately functioning as one unit with employees from various departments required to cooperate. The integration of processes requires individuals with engineering or technical skills to corporate with other employees. The integration and the need for collaboration demand that professionals have the necessary human resource management skills. It is my aspiration that the program will equip me with the necessary human resource management skills. This will improve my chances of working in various capacities within an organization. Finally, Wichita University is home to me. I pursued my undergraduate here, and it is my desire to go back home and pursue my master degree.
