2. Dates are grown in the date palm trees. The male plants are used to pollinate the female plants which have to carry heavy loads of the fruits.


3. In Morocco, the variety of Medjool dates was found first. They were brought to Nevada in 1927 and then took 11 trees and planted in Yuma later in the 1940’s. Till now the 6 of the 11 trees are standing and producing dates which are called ‘the big six’ by the local guide.


4. Medjool dates are not dried and processed. They are one of the exclusive varieties of the Datil Natural which harvest, clean and pack right away without undergoing any processing stage.


5. In the Medjool dates, there are only 20% of water which naturally dried out with time. If you want to retain the water part of the date, then keep it in the freezer.


6. Medjoot dates are quite healthy as they contain natural sugar, fiber, potassium, copper, magnesium, niacin, Vitamin B6, iron, calcium, vitamin K and other nutrition.


7. Another excellent feature of the Medjool dates is that this tree is never treated with the pesticide. As it grows in the desert like climate, the insects cannot survive in that atmosphere. Almost all the Mejdoot dates are organic and good for health.


8. The Medjoot dates are called the labor of love as it takes seven years for a female plant to start producing. After the fruits come up, the gardeners have to go up at least 10 to 12 times to tend the dates.


9. In this Datil Natural, you can find natural crystallization of sugar outside of the fruits. You can wipe the date with a damp cloth and microwave it for 5 seconds in order to absorb the sugar.
