How are Varicose Veins Treated?

There are several minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins that are both safe and painless. The treatments we offer are short procedures with quick recovery times. You can walk out of the office on the same day.

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

Radiofrequency Ablation uses radio waves and a thin catheter to break up the clotted vein and allow it to be reabsorbed into the body. This procedure takes less than an hour and only require local anesthesia. Minor discomfort is expected but recover time only takes a few hours.

Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA)

Endovenous Laser Ablation is similar to Radiofrequency Ablation except that instead of radio waves and cathader, a small optic fiber laser is used to treat the cause and symptoms of varicose veins. The laser is focused on the clot and breaks it up to be reabsorbed by the body. Endovenous Lasar Ablations also takes less than an hour to perform and only requires a local anesthetic.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy target spider veins and smaller varicose veins with precision, causing even the smallest spider veins to break up and be reabsorbed into the body. Individual treatments take about 10 minutes but a series of treatments may be needed to completely remove all varicose veins and spider veins.

You don't have to live with the pain and discomfort of varicose veins. Contact Dr. Shair at one of our New York offices today to discuss your options for treatment.
