Nicotine-Free Vaping: Should You Consider It?

No Nicotine E-Juice

One of the best advantages of Vaping against smoking is the control it can give users on the amount of nicotine they consume. You can’t reduce the amount of nicotine inside a cigarette stick. Smokers only have the option to either stop completely or cut the number of sticks they burn per day. Vapers, on the other hand, can completely opt out of it or slash their daily e-juice nicotine amount bit by bit. They have full control over it.

Nicotine is hard to shake off. It gives users a unique feeling that’s hard to forget or let go. Many people who transitioned from smoking to vaping still use almost as much nicotine in their e-liquids to get the exact same feeling that they use to get with cigarette sticks.

For some, vaping is a gentler way to withdraw from smoking. The liberty that vaping gives users with their nicotine gives them the power to reduce it little by little until they can stop completely.

Nicotine-free Vaping

Why do people even like nicotine?

We know that nicotine makes smoking addictive. We know it’s dangerous for our health, and that it will be hard to stop once you already have it in your system. So why do people still use it?

For people who are so used to having nicotine in their lungs, there’s no other way to enjoy vaping. Even if they can regulate nicotine in their vape juices, they won’t. Nicotine gives its users a unique feeling that leaves them wanting more. They’ll never enjoy vaping without it and that makes it hard for them to stop.

A huge portion of vapers add nicotine to it. There are still vapers who don’t but there are so few of them now, and they’re slowly getting influenced by the nicotine-using majority. Although recently, vapers have started reducing the amount of nicotine they consume but not because they want to get healthier. It’s because the vape equipment they're using is getting better at giving them the feeling with less nicotine.

Majority of vapers were previously smokers. They used vapes as a replacement for cigarettes. They didn’t leave the nicotine habit behind though, they took it with them.

Does vaping push nicotine to teens?

Vaping is big. Unlike cigarettes, it’s not as restricted to teenagers. Sure, there are laws against it but they’re not as tight and not as well implemented.

But does that mean that vaping is responsible for pushing nicotine to teens? Tom Frieden, CDC’s former chief seems to think so. In fact, he was the one responsible for planting the accusation to the fearful public. He claimed that vaping eventually leads to smoking. That children who vape today will eventually graduate to be smokers.

According to survey done by the University of Michigan, Only about 25% of teenagers around 18 years old enjoy nicotine when vaping. That’s not a lot. Especially, since the survey has now been conducted twice and those numbers barely moved.

There’s really no basis to say that teenage vapers will grow up to be smokers but people will keep saying it anyway. Studies will keep popping up supporting this belief and there’s nothing we can do to stop it. Nothing spreads faster than fear. And some people have gained from making nicotine appear more dangerous than it actually is.

Is vaping just a passing trend?

According to surveys, it really seems like it is. When vaping was first introduced, the number of teenagers lining up to try it shot through the roof. For a while there, it really seemed like it was going to be a problem for the future. A new addiction that needs to be curved like smoking. But if you look at recent studies, there number of vapers declines every year, especially among teenagers. It looks like it was just a trend that is now slowly going out of fashion.

You don’t hear much of this around. This isn’t news that anti-nicotine activists want you to hear. They don’t want to seem wrong in demonizing vaping. In fact, they don’t even want to focus on the fact that the majority of teenage vapers don’t even use nicotine. They’re gaining from making a mountain out of a molehill and don’t want to admit that it’s not really as big of a deal as they made it seem like it is.

What influences people to vape?

I’m sure you’ve seen someone do vape cloud tricks (cloud chasing). Those people are everywhere. There were even some who made it into talent shows just by doing cool cloud formations with their vapes. Cloud Chasers don’t really vape to get nicotine in their system. They do it for fun. Given the insane amount of time they need to practice blowing out those cloud formations, they can’t afford to inhale that much nicotine in their system. The smoke they’re billowing out is just VG based e-juice smoke. It’s nicotine free and totally safe.
Of course, it doesn’t take away the fact that many vapers are nicotine users. They never moved to vaping from smoking to get better. They took their nicotine and filled their vapes with them. Vapes can help people withdraw from smoking, but users have to consciously want to get better. Otherwise, they’re just using a new equipment to enjoy an old addiction. Many adults who use vape, adds nicotine to it. Those who use it nicotine free are extremely low.

Nicotine-Free Trend

It doesn’t mean that we’re not getting better. Over the last few years, vapers have started turning to liquids with less nicotine. Why? Because of competitions. Doing tricks with your vape and cool cloud formations is getting more and more popular. More and more vapers have opted to reduce their nicotine levels to practice those tricks and join those competitions.

Recent adjustments in vaping equipment made it easier to do their own cloud tricks. They also made direct exposure to nicotine, overwhelming. This is why people have started cutting back on it.

Of course, this doesn’t always mean good things. Even if you choose a e-liquid with low amount of nicotine, if you vape much more frequently than before, you’ll still be consuming as much nicotine. Nothing really changed, and you’re not getting healthier.

Vaping can help curve addiction but people need to want it. Vaping has the ability to get users to depend less on nicotine and eventually let go of it.
