Choosing Chocolate For Health

It's not exactly a mind-boggling matter to understand why chocolates are loved by everyone. The reasons are obvious. They taste great. There is probably no explanation needed for this because everybody loves chocolates and there's probably no one in the world who didn't become a child and much relentlessly on these goodies. Chocolates are ever mouthwatering just by their appearance alone. Maybe adults could hold themselves just a bit longer than children before sinking their teeth into that goodness. But just the same, chocolates are not something people resist can resist. They just need to have those chocolate bars or truffles.

It is no secret that once upon a time, chocolates were deemed bad for people's health. They said chocolates were fattening and they promoted tooth decay. They're nothing but sugar and all they'll give you is an energy rush that isn't even helpful. They will also give you a string of diseases or conditions such as hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol levels) or diabetes which supposedly could result from eating the food. This is how we have always viewed chocolates. And for this reason, we are totally surprised, pleasantly at that, to know that they aren't as bad as they always made us believe. In fact, the food could be good for our health and keep us away from deadly diseases. New Zealand Made chocolates

Yes, studies show chocolates are now healthy and are not, at all, bad as we once thought they were. In fact, there are many benefits we can reap from eating healthy amounts of the food everyday such as lowered blood pressure and cholesterol levels and improved blood circulation, immunity, as well as heart and anemic conditions.

But most of the studies only looked at dark chocolate. What makes it so special as compared to milk chocolate? Simple, there is much more chocolate in dark chocolate. It contains up to 50% more cocoa than milk chocolate which means its flavonoids content is naturally higher. Handmade New Zealand Chocolates

The chocolate that is most beneficial to our health is dark chocolate. One of the main ingredients of dark chocolate is cacao that contains flavonoids, and these are an excellent source of antioxidants that protect our bodies from the effects of free radicals that can be very damaging.

Easter and chocolate go hand in hand. When the season rolls around there are candy bunnies and Easter eggs galore. However, most of the goodies you find in the local stores just taste like regular candy in an Easter wrapper. For the best Easter candy, consider shopping at a specialty candy store. If you don't have one close to you, look for one online. The treats you can get make the extra effort worthwhile. Easter chocolate

Specialty stores make handmade confections and eggs that were common years ago before plain old mass produced Easter candy took over. Do you remember finding a big chocolate Easter egg in your basket and excitedly cutting it open to find out what flavor was inside? You can give the same thrill to your kids with gourmet eggs filled with cream centers in flavors like mint chocolate chip, buttercream, coconut, vanilla, fudge nut, cookies n' cream, peanut butter, and chocolate marshmallow.

If a big egg is a bit much, you can also find smaller gourmet Easter eggs that are made from both milk and dark chocolate and filled with peanut butter, coconut buttercream, or vanilla buttercream. Easter eggs aren't just for kids. Adults in your life will swoon over milk chocolate Easter eggs filled with amaretto cream, Kahlua cream, or Irish cream.
