Your Credit Reports – What To Do With Them?Posted by Jacab Roy on May 15th, 2019 Well, there are three important credit agencies who can provide you with your credit report and they are Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian. These are the organisations that the lenders go through to verify the credibility of the person asking for a loan. There is a federal law that says that a person can ask for one credit repot from each of these agencies once in a year free of cost. Thus, it is a good idea to have a look at your credit report for free at least once in a year. You can have to look to find out if there are no flaws and mistakes in the report. If you find some, you might need to find how to remove inquiries from the credit report online. Your credit report is categorized into four segments i.e. identifying information of the individual, the credit history, public records and the various inquiries. The identifying information will include your name, address and the social security number. If you observe some variations in your name or more than one social security number, it is because your creditor has reported it wrong. This information will always be there and cannot be removed as taking it off will disturb the relation between the report and the creditors who use it. This portion of the credit report also includes your employers’ information like driving license number and at times, your spouse name as well. The public records section ideally should not have anything in it. if it does, it will pull down your credit score very quickly. It will provide details about bankruptcy, judgements and tax liens. The inquiries section will provide you information about who all have requested to view your credit report. Jacab Roy is the author of this article.
