For some masons, the Masonic ring is more precious than the wedding ring. This is because of how attached they feel towards their rituals. However, there are also others who aren’t aware of the Masonic way of implementing things. Which is why through this article, we will try to briefly explain the various features of these rings.

What do they represent?

There are different types and features of masonic rings. The circles symbolize eternity and a complete cycle of life. Like in most cultures, these rings are also used to represent commitment towards and obligations. Once a Freemason wears the ring, he is committed to following the Free-masonic Fraternity and the values and principles which are promoted by Freemasonry.

Shapes, sizes, and features

If you’re not a mason or not an expert in the subject, you will find it difficult to identify whether it is a masonic ring or not. It is similar to most wearable rings in terms of size, shape and even features. Especially, when it comes to the shape which can even make them indistinguishable from other rings, if they are without any masonic imagery or shapes which are often found on Masonic rings.

Most rings that the Freemasons wear have shapes and mottos engraved on them. These are the only primary makers that separate them from other common rings.

If you find a Masonic ring that is square in shape and has a compass with a G and an eye in the middle, it means that God is all the time watching over you. The G in the middle represents God.

Most of the popular masonic rings are made of several metals, gold, and silver, along with stainless steel.

Phrases on the rings

In addition to size, shapes, and features, there are some rings that have mottos in them. Following are a few examples:

“In Hoc Signo Vinces” this is written in Latin which means “With this as your standard, you shall have victory”.

“Aude Vide Tace,” meaning “Watch, Listen, & Be Silent.”,

“Lux e tenebris” meaning “Light out of darkness”,

“Magna est Veritas, et praevalabit” meaning “Great is the truth, and it will prevail” and many more.

There is a wide range of collections to choose when you look for masonic rings. However, it is important that one understand its symbolization and representation when he wears them.
