Only Use Cold Water

Wash all silk products with cold water. Never wash silk products in hot water. Water with temperatures above 80 degrees Fahrenheit will damage silk significantly.

Only Use a pH Neutral Detergent

Strong acid or alkaline detergent can cause the delicate silk fibers harden because silk is a natural fiber. To maintain the integrity of the fabric with every wash, please use the detergent clearly reads that it has a “Has a Neutral pH.”

Never Use Fabric Softener

With the specialized weaving technique, silk products made of natural silk fibers are very soft. There is no need to add fabric softener to the wash.

Never Use Bleach

Bleach not only can harm silk fabric but also cause silk yellow.

Do Not Dry Clean

There is no need to dry cleaning silk pillowcases. If you don’t want to wash it with a machine, you can try washing it by yourself with a small amount of detergent.

Do Not Use Dryer

It is recommended to hang drying, preserving the integrity of the fabric. Place silk pillowcase on a non-slip hanger simply air dry. Depending on the temperature condition of the area, drying silk pillowcase needs 45 minutes.

Tumble dry using a no-heat setting if you prefer to machine dry.

Never Use Dryer Sheets

Dryer sheets will add a wax coating to silk products and cannot help to prevent the pillowcase from being wrinkled. Do not use a dryer sheet.

Only Light Iron

After washing, all silk products wrinkle. The silk threads will start to relax and straighten after a few nights of sleeping. Only use the lowest setting when you iron your pillowcases.

Use Fine Mesh Wash Bags

Use fine mesh wash bags when washing silk pillowcase with a machine, keeping pillowcase from getting caught and preventing pillowcase from tearing.

Use Fine Fabric Wash

For all luxury textiles like silk and linen fabrics, fine fabric wash is the ultimate washing detergent. Fine fabric wash contains powerful cleaning enzymes and has a neutral pH. It not only can remove the toughest stains on any silk fabric without causing any damage but also maintain the integrity of all silk fabrics.
