How To Make Over Your Mornings

Posted by Ayan on July 19th, 2019

We hear so much about the importance of mornings, and there are so many famous sayings about getting an early start on the day:

“The early bird catches the worm.” ~ Unknown

“Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.” ~ Benjamin Franklin

Yeah, yeah. That’s all good and well but the truth is, this is more my speed when it comes to mornings:

“If people were meant to pop out of bed, we’d all sleep in toasters.” ~ Jim Davis

As much as I’d like to be, I’m simply not a morning person. Oh sure, if it’s absolutely necessary for me to get an early start to the day, I can definitely do that, but I most certainly don’t rise and shine. If you want shine, come see me around 11 am.

No matter how you personally feel about mornings, I think we can all agree that regardless of when you start your day, whether you get up early with a smile or you roll out of bed and head straight to the kitchen for coffee, the course of our day can be determined in those first few hours. How the entire goes can be impacted by the kind of morning we have.

So many mornings, I would roll out of bed, worn out and worn down, dreading the day ahead because before my feet even hit the floor, I was already running behind and feeling so overwhelmed. Ugh. So stressful.

I was trying to do too much, but instead of accomplishing everything on my ever-growing to-do list, I was falling further behind and the frustration was unbearable.

I finally realized that I had to start putting some routines into place, to help me focus on my priorities ~ both personally and professionally ~ and help me set realistic goals in order to find calm, clarity, and freedom from the chaos in my life.

That’s when a friend told me about Crystal Paine’s Make Over Your Mornings online course. Of course my first thought was, An online course? Are you kidding me? I don’t have time for things that are already on my to-do list; I can’t even think about adding something else to it!

But after I looked into it a little bit further, I learned that it’s a self-paced course that can easily be completed in 15 minutes a day over a 14 day period. And the best thing about it? It’s not a course about getting up early; Crystal isn’t preaching the virtues of rising at 5am, which I’m just going to admit would be a deal-breaker for me.

Instead, she focuses on helping you create effective morning and bedtime routines that will definitely make life easier. The course includes short videos, printable worksheets, and a comprehensive course workbook. Add to that the fact that you get lifetime access to all of these resources, and I’d say this is a must-do course for anyone who wants to start their day off right.

Did I mention that you get all of this, and more, for only ? I know, right!

Now I’m going to be honest with you. Having finished Crystal’s course, I’m still not popping out of bed with a smile on my face and a song in my heart at 5am. That’s just not me and it’s never going to be, no matter how many online courses I take.

But what has changed is my morning routine. I’m more intentional about the way I spend the first 2 hours of my day, and it’s paying off by making the rest of my day go so much more smoothly.

I’ve also changed my nightly bedtime routine. As I’ve mentioned before, there are so many things you can do before bedtime that will make tomorrow a better day. Getting some things done at night definitely helps you start the next day with less on your to-do list and more time for the things that matter.

So I encourage you. If you’re looking for a way to take control of the chaos and stress in your life, the first step is to make over your mornings, and a great way to do that is to take part in this simple, quick, and oh so effective online course.

Another way is to read Crystal’s book, Say Goodbye to Survival Mode: 9 Simple Strategies to Stress Less, Sleep More, and Restore Your Passion for Life.
