Bollywood Films That Touched Topic of Live-in Relationships Differently

If you look at the spate of Bollywood movies based on live-in relationships, it seems that Bollywood and our society seemed to be finally settling with the idea. Where the idea of a boy and girl in love moving into a live-in relationship looked bolder back then; thanks to movies like Befikre, Luka Chuppi, and Shudh Desi Romance that it seems more of a transition now.

If you own a direct to home satellite TV at home, you’d have watched some Bollywood movies based on live-in relationships. Let’s which of these ones managed to strike with the audience and ended up making their mark:

Salaam Namaste

The first-ever Bollywood movie to be based entirely on the live-in relationship, Salaam Namaste did manage to get quite a few eyeballs and some flak but all went through smoothly. Saif Ali Khan movies in with Preity Zinta and all is well in the hood till the latter gets pregnant and ended up giving him cold feet. However, by the movie’s end, the two got back together and lived happily ever after. Many satellite TV channels have premiered it on television, do catch it up!

Pyaar ka Punchnama

The movie hilariously amplified the sad plight of men after moving in a relationship where the entire idea primarily was to not get into the responsibilities. As the movie progressed, Karthik Aryan started missing on his days with the boys and Nusrat Barucha got increasingly possessive. However, the two just parted ways eventually making sure that it’s easy to come out of a live-in than a wedlock. Shudh Desi Romance

Now here’s a modern day’s take on relationships where there is love between two but are commitment phobic to get married. Gayatri and Raghu move into live-in and spend some great times together but separate later on their wedding day only to be reunited after a few years. Realizing they still are crazy for each other, the two get back together in a live-in. This is a hard-to-miss movie based on live-in relationships to catch up on direct to home satellite TV channels.

 

Befikre

The couple gets into a practical arrangement of living in together to see if it’s just casual or there’s any substance to it! The two just inform their families in a passing tone and move in only to realize later that they’re not cut out for each other. This was the movie where live-in relationships felt more of a breather than a burden. Satellite TV channels like Sony Tv has premiered this movie on many occasions, make sure you catch it the next time!

Lukka Chuppi

Recently released Karthik Aryan and Kriti Sanon starrer movie Lukka Chuppi also is a practical take on live-in relationships where in two people in love move in together. They believe they would know each other well by living like husband and wife before actually getting married to see if they’re actually compatible or not. The movie also premiered on a few satellite TV channels in India for the audiences to see.

Guess with the changing times we can expect many more Bollywood movies satellite TV channels in India exploring live-in relationships and giving us new relationship goals.
