There are numbers of artificial or man-made lakes in the country of Arizona that are used for major water sports and for the recreational purposes. These lakes and the surrounding areas are also reservoirs for natural resources, mostly generated after creating the largest dams among the country. 

In here, from our practical sailing experiences we have chalked down 4 best boat sailing lakes in Arizona. 

  1. Lake Pleasant 

The first preferred one would be Lake Pleasant that is close to Phoenix metropolitan area and created after the construction of Carl Pleasant Dam. The Dam was the largest among the world during the time of its completion.

The lake has a surface area of 3500 acres and one of the major venue for water sports and the park surrounding the lake is great for outing, camping, hiking and so on.

           

  1. Saguaro Lake 

Saguaro Lake is one of the fourth lakes that are created by the construction of Stewart Mountain Dam in the state of Arizona. The lake is halfway between Phoenix and the Ghost town of Sunflower. For boat sailing alone this should be the perfect destination and the lake's source is Salt River.

The lake has a surface area of 1506 acres and contains a number of rare fish species and, what more is that the lake comes with hidden coves and caves to explore during the thrilling sailing adventure.

  1. Lake Havasu 

Lake Havasu is the largest reservoir on Colorado River in the state of Arizona and comes with a bit of challenging sailing atmosphere.

The lake is in between the border of California and Arizona State. This is a huge area for boat sailing and has a surface area of 19600 acres.

  1. Theodore Roosevelt Lake 

Theodore Roosevelt Lake is the largest reservoir created after the construction of Theodore Roosevelt Damn in the northwest of Phoenix, Arizona.  The lake is great for boat sailing and offers some sailing schools for beginners too.

The lake has a surface area of 21493 acres. Once a man-made lake, Theodore Roosevelt Lake is currently the third largest lake in Arizona and also allows Jet Ski or power driving boats.
