Destinations for Backpackers – If u get bored of your daily life, then take out some time, pack your bags and leave to have a ravishing experience of your life. If u looking destinations for backpackers i.e low cost, independent travel then is the perfect place to decide your destination. 

Backpacking is an inexpensive experience you’ll never forget. It is the most popular travelling option for travellers. Travelling not just provides you with lifetime memories but also broaden one’s horizon. 

Here is a list of destinations, a first time backpacker should choose from.   

1. Thailand

In a nutshell- Thailand is a beautiful, cheap and easy to navigate. It is a heaven for backpackers. 

Thailand is a beautiful country in South East Asia. It is a perfect destination for budget conscious backpackers who are looking for a tropical land with rich culture and availability of food at a cheap price.

 From beautiful landscapes to never ending parties to cheap place to stay, Thailand is a perfect destination  for first time backpackers. 

Transportation

Flying to Thailand can be a bit expensive but later in cities it is quite cheap. You can roam around the country by bus, train or planes throughout the country as well as boats if you are around the coast.

Cost Per day is very low. You can get a place to sleep and food in around US $ 10-15 a day. 

Attractions- Phi Phi Island, Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Ayutthaya etc. 

2. India

India is a massively huge South Asian Country. From vast himalayas to expansive beaches, Lazy lagoons to endless sands, historical sites to wildlife, India serves a wide variety of experiences and blend of different cultures. It is one of the most famous destinations among the backpackers.

Transportation

Buses and trains are among the most used mode of transport. You can also fly around the country if have a good budget. 

Cost Per day is not too much. You can easily get mouth watering street food at low cost. Residing is also not much expensive. 

Attractions- Kerala, Goa, Shimla, Ooty, Rajasthan, Kashmir, Udaipur etc. 

3. Australia

With too many iconic destinations, Australia is one of the most famous destinations which will provide some memorable experiences and lifetime memories.

It is one of the safest options as  crime levels in the country are comparatively low. Since, english is the first language in this country, so communication is not a problem at all. 

Transportation

Australia is MASSIVE. Still traveling around  the country especially at east coast is surprisingly easy. Easiest way is to travel by Bus or hire a car depending on the length of stay.

Cost Per day is not as cheap as other destinations. If you are travelling on a strict budget than this might not be your first bet. You might need at least US per night for a simple accommodation.

Attractions- Great barrier Reef, Sydney Opera House. Outbacks and coastlines to Sunrise over Uluru, Australia have a lot to attractions. 

4. Turkey

It is a backpackers paradise with great food, mesmerizing music, colourful places and good looking people. Turkey have beautiful mosques as well as underground caves and rock houses. 

Turkey is a lifetime experience for backpackers, it offers budget prices and unforgettable experiences such as hot air balloon rides over famous fairy chimneys cappadocia. Turkish kebabs are most famous food to taste.  

Attractions- Istanbul, Goreme, icmeler, Urgup, Dalyan, and Kalkan.

5. Vietnam

Vietnam is a mixture of Culture, Tradition and Nature. It a great place to explore and a backpacker friendly country which must be in the bucket list of every backpacker. 

It is a South East Asian country which have plenty of sights, activities and things to do. These activities are generally free or carry very less cost. The country is famous for its beaches, Buddhist pagodas, museums, rivers and lively cities.

 Transportation

Bus or Trains are the main form of transport  in Vietnam.

Cost Per day is not more than US for accommodation and food together. You can also get hotel rooms with breakfast under per night. Vietnam has plenty of street food stalls and cheap restaurants which makes it a backpacker friendly country. 

Attractions- Hanoi (capital of Vietnam), Halong Bay, Bai Dinh Pagoda, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Hoi, Hue, Da Nang, etc. 

6. Indonesia

Southeast Asian Nation, Indonesia is famous among the backpackers from all over the world. This country is recognised for its thousands of volcanic Islands, Volcanoes,White Sand Beaches, Forests,  Delicious cuisines etc. 

This country has a picture-perfect beaches and is a strong contender to chase the sun and sand. Bali is a must to visit island in Indonesia.  

Transportation

Scooter is the National means of transport in this country.  

Attractions- Bromo Mountain, Bawean Treasure Island, Orangutan Destination, Komodo Island, South Sumatra Tourism, Jampit Coffee Plantations, Ijen Crater.

7. New Zealand

New Zealand is one of the premiers backpacking destination with amazing attractions and wonderful adventure sports. It is a must to visit destination for the fans of Lord of the Rings or  The Hobbit . You will enjoy visiting the places where these were filmed.  

This country too have English as their first language. Also, this is a safe destination for first time travellers. 

Transportation

This country also have easy to travel facility. You can have Hoop On, Hoop Off Bus pass which is a fun way to travel. You can also hire Camper vans or Cars. 

Cost Per day  is quite less. This is also a budget friendly country which will offer accommodation and food at lesser cost. But adventure activities like Bungee jumping, Cruises are bit expensive.

Attractions- Ninety Mile Beach , Bay of Islands on the North Island, Milford Sound on the South Island etc. 

8. Canada

If you want to explore from Atlantic Provinces on the east coast to remote Northwest Territories, Canada is a great option for you. This destination will provide you with amazing Outdoor activities.

Transportation network is good in populated areas whereas you must conscious of natural threats. 

Cost Per day  is as cheap as other countries. Specially, Montreal provides you with very budget friendly hostels starting from per night. Food is also not much expensive.
