Comparison of wireless router and wireless gaming router :

There are many differences between the regular wireless routers and wireless gaming routers. The regular wireless routers are designed for everyday purpose and normal home usage, but gaming ones are designed to do heavy usage or gaming and also for regular normal usage. Additionally, gaming routers have special optimization for gaming to remove lags and reduce ping.

Gigabit Ethernet : The normal regular wireless routers have Gigabit Ethernet (2-6)ports for regular wireless connectivity. But in case of gaming routers they have (4-10) Gigabit Ethernet port and additionally one special ultra speed Ethernet port with game boost button only for lag free and high speed gaming. The regular routers have normal dashboard and router settings whereas gaming routers have dashboards with multiple controls and special optimization for gaming. With bandwidth control option and in-built VPN for gaming purposes.

Wireless standards : The regular routers works on 802.11n and nowadays they are working on 802.11ac. Previously the routers used only one band that is 2.4GHz and now they are coming with dual bands 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The regular routers also have single bands and dual bands and comes with single antenna or dual antennas.

And in the other hand the gaming routers works on 802.11ac and also 802.11ax. They are equipped with multiple antennas. They comes with dual band or tri-band frequency. This bands are divided into two 5Ghz and one 2.4GHz. Many gaming routers have one 60Ghz, one 5GHz and one 2.4Ghz frequency band to work on so they can provide premium gaming experience.

Processor and RAM : Regular wireless routers have a low quality processor and low RAM to just maintain the continuity of the router to provide constant internet. Whereas the gaming routers have powerful processors and RAM  to maintain not only speed but also various controls.

MU-MIMO and Beamforming technology :   Regular routers don't have any of this technology or some high priced regular routers may have this features.

But in case of gaming routers they have this technologies loaded. MU-MIMO technology provides seamless connectivity to multiple devices simultaneously connected with the router. Beamforming technology provides the signal to transmit toward the device which is using maximum bandwidth and provide speed accordingly so that a device that is connected far from router also gets a good internet speed to work on.
