Are Google Adwords and PPC the same thing?

Google Adwords and PPC services are terms used in digital marketing and it is quite common to find them used in place of one another. However, this is not to be so as they are very different concepts. Yes, they are related to a certain type of digital marketing but they relate to different aspect and as such the difference between them. To begin, let's take a look at the meanings of Google Adwords and PPC.

Pay Per Click (PPC). Just like its name implies, it is a type of digital marketing in which advertisers pay for each click on their ad. Basically, it's just like buying the traffic coming into your website. It's a type of digital marketing that doesn't place any special focus on optimizing your website.

Google Adwords. Google Adwords is simply a tool used for PPC advertising. It's the most popular platform used around the world. With the use of Adwords, it is possible to set up ads that will appear on SERPs.

The Adwords system works when users bid for keywords. These winners of this bid are chosen based on a complex algorithm that measures a number of factors. These chosen users are then able to set up ads which they pay for a per-click from visitors.

PPC is a concept and a type of digital marketing. Adwords is a PPC tool. Setting up a successful PPC campaign can be quite some work. There is a need to research the keywords, organizing the keywords into ad campaigns and then the creation of landing pages which are for conversion of visitors. Search engines are known to charge lesser when a PPC campaign has been set up successfully and intelligently.

An ineffective PPC scheme and signing up for a fraudulent PPC platform can make you lose a lot of money. An indicator of fraudulent PPC platforms is those with a pre-determined number of clicks. With this type of platforms, there is always a risk of a lack of real traffic. The click may be due to an algorithm design to satisfy the number of click for the duration. This way, you lose money without really getting any customers.

It's important to do PPC the right way and Google Adwords is the right way. Google Adwords accounts for 85%-90% of all types of PPC campaigns. Adwords comes into PPC as a very effective tool to helps its users generate real traffic and avoid click fraud. Adwords is also useful in tracking the progress and results of your PPC campaign. This means you can make use of the results to make better decisions going forward. It's an effective tool and a good way to avoid click fraud.
