Chandrakant Dada Patil – Through a Different Perspective

The political scenario of Maharashtra has always proved that in order to become successful in it, one must have a strong political background or have connections with various co-operative organizations. Only a few political leaders are an exception for this thumb rule- the Revenue and Agriculture Minister of Maharashtra State Hon. Mr. Chandrakant Dada Patil is considered to be one. 

Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil is admired and adored by people as the most down to earth public figure and this identification and recognition has been bestowed upon him due to his background, nature and outstanding work towards different sections of the society. 

Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil experienced Mumbai life in his childhood itself as his father was a mill labourer at Mafatlal, to be more specific— a Chaiwala in the mill. During a very young age, Dada came in contact with RSS and that very moment became the turning point of his life. He proved his leadership qualities, planning, and organizing capabilities when he first debuted in politics through ABVP. His career graph has been dynamically progressive right from an ABVP member to the BJP State Vice-President and from an MLA to the Maharashtra State Cabinet Minister. Though he completed his education in Mumbai, his native is in Kolhapur District. Western Maharashtra was recognized with a strong influence of Congress and NCP. All government bodies in Western Maharashtra were renowned for the monopoly of Congress and NCP. Hon. Minister Mr. Chandrakant Dada Patil is regarded highly creditable in transforming this situation in favour of the BJP. Not only was it a tedious task, but also a challenge full of thorns to overcome for the BJP and their leaders at that time.  Mr. Chandrakant Dada Patil however, dared to compete for this challenge and became a BJP trendsetter in Western Maharashtra.

The journey of Revenue Minister has been truly inspiring for one and all. His native place being Khanapur from Kolhapur district, the family shifted to Mumbai and his father Bachhu Patil used to be mill labour, like mentioned earlier. Mr. Chandrakant Dada Patil completed his schooling and college education in Mumbai- he is B. Com graduate from the Siddharth College in Mumbai. His thought process was inspired by the RSS during his school days and that played a vital role in reshaping and building his principles. He worked as an ABVP member for 13 years, which demonstrates his dedication and leadership towards his work. After that, he was assigned with more responsibilities as vice president and in 2008, he was elected as MLA on behalf of the Pune Graduates Constituency. Now he is handling multiple departments in the Maharashtra state cabinet efficiently.

Mr. Chandrakant Dada Patil is well known for his polite nature and social awareness. He is always cooperative for different social and cultural initiatives, whether it is related to sports, culture or music. He established Vidya Prabodhini in Kolhapur and 50 centres are working to develop values and principles in kids. This highlights him as principle-oriented person and leader.

When he was included in the state cabinet, his mother-in-law Shubhada Khare replied,” We are very happy with his achievements, he is like our son, and his political career will be very bright in the future”. His Mother Saraswati Patil also became nostalgic and felt proud of her son.

Mr. Chandrakant Dada Patil is respected by students, youth, farmers, labour, and women for his massive work for all these classes. His marvellous achievements in the career include his contribution to the Maratha Reservation process, Dhangar Reservation process, loan waiver to farmers, digitization in the revenue work of the state and substantial development of the Kolhapur district and the city.  He deserves more responsibilities in state politics as he is really a man of deeds.
