United Kingdom is one country where people of all age groups want to either visit or stay in. The duration known as the qualifying period for an ILR application commences from the approval of leave in the beginning to remain. The most recent 5 years are only considered if one has lived more than 5 years in United Kingdom.

One is not permitted to apply for more than 28 days before the 5-year qualifying period is completed and if it is done then it is going to end up in a refusal and loss of the fee. The visa applicants who entered UK after few weeks after the visa valid date will be asked to apply for an extension in order to complete the 5- year qualifying period before they are eligible for ILR.
