Mercedes-Benz: The History

There's no question that Mercedes-Benz is one of the world's most popular automotive brands. Last year alone, they sold 2.31 million passenger cars globally, making them the best-selling manufacturer of 2018. 

To celebrate this fact, and to take you through the brand's incredible history, Rivervale Leasing have produced a brand new infographic:

Starting in 1890 with partners Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach, the brand began selling cars under the Mercedes name around 1900, named after the daughter of Emil Jillinek. By 1936, they were selling the world's first-ever diesel car, the 260D. 

Since then, Mercedes-Benz have grown into a giant of the automotive history, producing vehicles that have become synonymous with innovation and luxury, as well as quality craftmanship and engineering.
