How a remote worker can be more productive?

Despite of all the cliches about handicaps associated with remote work. The fact is these are mostly exaggerated statements coming from freelancers who ran short of work projects or the ones bored from work. While mental health issues are real but the question remains aren’t people at desktop jobs suffering from mental health issues too? But can we generalize that full time work is inducing this problem? Certainly not. There are various factors that contribute towards causing depression and stress in the people. Work may or may not trigger it.

Freelance work comes with its own perks and freedom. It depends upon an individual how he extracts the most from it. In Fact those flexibilities are what add towards increased productivity levels.

  • You decide your own time and space

Who doesn’t crave freedom? You can get up at the time you decide for yourself and start working in your pyjamas. Won’t you love that mode of work? Any room of your home can become your office. It can be a basement of your house or your study. Surroundings and interior is designed as per your needs and mood. Something you can’t find in a regular workplace.

If that doesn’t suffice then choose a public space. Whether a coworking space or a library that you love most. What can motivate you to work harder is something you know at best. You can set your own office looking working space with interior that gives you the feeling of being in a workspace. And you don’t get laid off with the idea of staying at home always.

  • Getting rid from commute is a real blessing

Some people hate commuting more than they hate the idea of full time work. Commuting for longer hours can drain energy from many. And they might feel lackluster for next working day. So basically getting enough sleep can boost energy levels in any normal human.

Otherwise if you are to reach office at 9 am and need an hour long commute. You will wake up by 6 am. That can lead towards lack of sleep as barely anyone can go off to bed by ten to take 8 hours long requisite sleep.

  • It gives a huge space to working mothers

When a woman is occupied with little infants who need utmost care and they can’t afford a daycare. However they are highly skilled and have tons of professional experience. They will get a feeling of being wasted. Freelance work remains the only viable option in that case. It also relieves a huge stress stimulator from their minds. Even at work they keep thinking of their little ones that obviously reduces their productivity levels. Flex work options are ideal for women trapped in such situations.

  • No company perks? Fine, you can give yourself a treat

Nobody is ogling at you when you are giving yourself a break. With flex work you can identify when you are near exhaustion and need a break. You can always pamper yourself with either a short break or a vacation. You won’t face a deduction or accountability. This idea of giving yourself a space can make you a lot more productive when it's needed.

  • Make sure this freedom doesn’t make you spoilt

For some inherently lazy fellas, such freedom is dangerous. They develop procrastinating tendencies at the peak. So ensure you aren’t one of those. Make a planner and strictly stick to it. Your to do list should be supplemented by ‘what not to do’ list. Lack of organization and time management will make you a poor performer. And poor performance lead to poor reviews.

  • Money and environment is saved

Well you don’t have to invest in clothes, car fuel, Commuting expenses, daycare or throwing parties for colleagues. So obviously a big chunk of your earnings is saved. You can either save it or invest in some worthwhile place.

And when so many people work from home, the environment is saved from the pollution emanating from vehicles.

  • No stress, more productivity

One can’t function normally when they are suffering from stress. If you have aging parents at home, little infants, or any other responsibility that keep you mentally occupied. You will lose your productivity for sure. Or even if the stress is workplace related, you were overburdened, victim of workplace politics, or faced lack of appreciation. You were stressed and therefore feel disillusioned from work. Getting these issues fixed can provide you mental relief thus you act more enthusiastic for work. You look forward to it.

  • Time management is a real challenge

For a freelancer, keeping track of productivity and working hours is a real challenge. With household chores and distractions around, you barely remember to manually filling any timesheet or even if you do. Who knows your client or employer decline to accept? A fool-proof solution is a reliable Stafftimer AppIt will enable you to track your time and productivity levels in an immaculate manner. Freelance time tracking is not an issue anymore.
