The Examination

Just like every other institution and courses ask for an exam, the Navy, too, has its examination that it conducts for recruitment. The test is conducted by the UPSC and follows a specific format, which includes a written exam (CDSE and NDA/NA cadet) and an interview conducted by the SSB.

The examinations require certain eligibility criteria that include various demographic conditions, education qualifications, and physical requirements. So, ensure you have read and understood every situation stated.

The Recruitment Procedure

The Navy has a systemized recruitment procedure of 4 ½ years, including six months of basic training at IMA (Dehradun), followed by 2 ½ years of Stage II training at College of Military Engineering (Pune) and Stage III training for six months at an allotted institute.

After the completion of the first three years, the candidates will then be awarded the Degree of Engineering along with Rs. 8000/- per month as stipend. It is after the 4th year is complete that the candidates are ranked as Luitenants.

Prospectives

The prospectives of having a Navy career after 12th are very promising and well. As mentioned earlier, the Navy is an honorable career where one stands for their country. Along with it, the Navy grooms its officers to learn how to lead and various other skills while giving opportunities to explore the world.

Alongside that, the Navy officers start with a 3 to 4 lakh per annum package at the beginning, going up to 4 to 5 lakh and finally reaching 8 to 9 lakhs per annum as a senior.
