Easy BellSouth Email Settings Process

BellSouth is a telecommunication company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The company was acquired by AT&T. However even after the merging, AT&T allowed users to keep their BellSouth email. The email has thus many active users. To use BellSouth email service seamlessly without any issues, users need to configure the email properly. If the configuration will be incorrect then the email can stop receiving and sending mails. Usually the email configuration happens automatically like this:


Navigate to AT&T website.
Enter your BellSouth email address.
Enter the password and log in.
Once your account opens, go to the ‘Settings’ option.
Under settings you will find ‘Accounts’ option. Select it.
Now select ‘Add account’ option.
Tap the ‘Email’ option then.
Now you will have to enter your BellSouth email username and password.
This will start the configuration on its own.
But users can also configure email settings manually through these steps:
Navigate to AT&T website.
Enter your BellSouth email address.
Enter the password and log in.
Now go to the file section.
Select ‘Add account’ option.
There you will find ‘Manual configure server setting’ option. Select it.
Now click ‘Next’.
A pop up will appear asking to proceed. Click yes.
Now you will be asked to enter your Bellsouth email address.
After this enter your account name.
Now click the IMAP and POP option given there.
Different fields will appear. You need to fill them.
For POP3:
Enter BellSouth Incoming mail server as ‘inbound.att.net’.
Enter 995 as the Incoming Server port number.
Enter BellSouth SMTP outgoing mail server as ‘outbound.att.net’
Enter 465 as the Outgoing Server port number.
Also select SMTP ‘requires authentication’ option.
For IMAP:
Enter BellSouth incoming mail server as ‘imap.mail.att.net’.
Select 993 as the port number.
Enter BellSouth IMAP SMTP outgoing mail server as ‘smtp.mail.att.net’.
Enter the port number as 465 or 587.
Save these changes. Your Bellsouth Email Settings is completed here.
