Students preparing for CA examination are often confused whether to opt for self study or coaching. While the majority of CA rank holders will vouch for coaching classes, it is not mandatory that you will score high marks only if you go for CA coaching classes. It is up to each individual to decide what is best for him/her.

If you don't have any good CA coaching centres near your house and you will have to travel far to attend such classes, then it will be better to opt for self study. But again the student must decide if the time he takes for travelling is worth it or not.

The truth is even if you attend coaching classes you will have to do self study, but when you do self study there is no one to guide you or there is no coaching involved. When you attend a coaching class concepts are discussed once or twice. To thoroughly understand those concepts you will have to do self study.

A teacher will teach certain easy methods and discuss a few examples, but you will have to do a lot of hard work and practice more questions connected with that particular method if you want to succeed.
