TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMS

In the modern society high quality teaching is the need of the hour. Teachers should have a lot of knowledge and skill so as to teach children. Now a days teachers too have to meet certain demands and the standards of the quality education. The teachers need to be effective classroom managers so that the success rate of their students is high. The studies have shown that when teachers are effective managers then the success rate of the students is relatively high. The teachers need to continuously learn and develop their skills in order to help their students develop. There are various programme for the teachers to enhance their skills and grow. Many courses are offered by I am a Teacher. Some of them along with brief information are mentioned below:

1.  Post Graduate Diploma in Learning & Teaching (PGDLT)

The PGDLT (Post Graduate Diploma in Learning & Teaching) is an innovative and practice-based programme that helps teachers to make education transformational. It is course that is started is offered by I am a teacher in Mumbai and Delhi and begins in June and ends in March respectively. This course supports the teachers in their growth and development. The objectives of this program are:

•  Awareness:
  The course helps you to be mindful and helps you gain a better view of what you are doing, feeling and thinking.
•   Balance:

This course will develop your skills by helping you to make a connection between the theory and the practical part.

•  Connect:

This course helps you explore the real time classroom situations. 

2.  Certificate Programme in Instructional Leadership

This program is for the teachers who make learning deeper and innovative for the students. It is a four-month-long intensive blended programme basically for full-time teachers and school leaders. This course has the following advantages: 

•  The in depth knowledge of the principles of adult learning is provided.
•   Knowledge on coaching teachers towards building experiential learning classrooms.
•  The school based mentoring principles’ understanding is provided.
•  The mentoring practice experiences are provided in this course.
•  This course is also about the self-improvement and is best for continuous learning.

3.  Fellowship in Learning For Youth

This course is for the leaders who are interested in the education for youth. It is a two year programme that is a learning programme that gives youth a deeper knowledge. The first year of the Teacher Traning programme is all about student learning and teaching. The people will interact with the expert pedagogues and will be made sit with the experienced mentor teacher in the classroom. While the second year is centred on the multiple responsibilities like teaching, learning, development and community outreach. The fellows are made to work in a government school that helps in their transformation. The graduates who are highly motivated and are ready to go beyond their limits can also avail the scholarship benefit. Also the candidate who have been selected into the PGDLT program can apply for the Fellowship programme.

Eligibility Criteria for Instructional Leader Candidates

•  Minimum 3 years teaching experience.
