The department of Tamil Nadu Recruitment Board (TRB) organise Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) every year. The students who are looking at their career in Tamil Nadu State Schools compulsory required to pass out the Teacher Eligibility Test.

The TNTET examination is divided into two papers Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for to become eligible to teach classes I to V. Whereas, Paper 2 is for those who want to become eligible to teach students VI to VII Class.

TNTET Syllabus 2020

Paper 1 and Paper 2 syllabus is different.

TNTET Paper 1 Syllabus

TNTET Paper 1 is divided into 5 Sections

1. Child development and Padalogy: 30 Marks
2. Language 1 (Tamil): 30 Marks
3. Language 2 (English): 30 Marks
4. Mathematics & Science: 30 Marks
5. Environmental Studies and Social Science: 30 Marks

TNTET Paper 2 Syllabus

TNTET Paper 2 is divided into 4 Sections

1. Child development and Padalogy: 30 Marks
2. Language 1 (Tamil): 30 Marks
3. Language 2 (English): 30 Marks
4. Mathematics & Science: 30 Marks
5. Environmental Studies and Social Science: 30 Marks

TNTET Passing Marks

The examination is qualifying in nature so candidates who score above minimum qualifying marks, will be considered for teaching posts.

General Candidates: 90 Marks (60%)

SC/ST/OBC: 83 Marks (55%)

TNTET Validity Period

Once you qualify the TNTET examination, after then you can use it up to 7 years from the date of result. So, the validity period of the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test is 7 Years.

To apply for the Tamil Nadu Teacher eligibility test, every candidate required to visit official website trb.tn.nic.in/.

• Firstly, you have to register yourself on the official website.
• Fill the application form by entering the required information.
• Upload Required documents on the online portal.
• Make Payment of Fees, and Your Application registered successfully.

TNTET Exam Dates

According to with previous year the official notification tends to release in the month of February and students can apply through the month of March.

Availability of Application Form: March 2020

Admit Card Release: 1 Week Before the Exam

Examination Date: June 2020

Announcement of Result: August 2020
